Mid Wales Tourism Awards

About

About The Awards

The Mid Wales Tourism Awards recognise and reward excellence within the tourism sector throughout Powys, the Brecon Beacons, Ceredigion and Meirionnydd. If your business is based on the border of any of these counties then you must demonstrate that you market your business as being in Mid Wales (e.g. on your website).

The awards open for nominations July 2024, with one overall winner from the majority of categories going forward to the national Visit Wales Awards in March 2025

The shortlisting process is robust, and entrants will be judged by an expert panel of tourism industry professionals.

Where there is a tie or judges are split, personal site-visits may be arranged to reach our final decision; these will be communicated well in advance.

The Regional Approach

We welcome applications from throughout the region which includes Powys, Brecon Beacons, Ceredigion & Merionnydd.

Businesses on the borders are welcome to apply to these awards, or to other regional awards. Scoring criteria will consider whether businesses are proactively marketing themselves as 'Mid Wales' based and promoting the Mid Wales destination.

If you apply to the Mid Wales Tourism Awards please note this precludes you from applying for another region's tourism awards in the same year.

About The Organisers

Mid Wales Tourism, also known as MWT Cymru, is the regional destination marketing and membership organisation for Powys, Ceredigion, and Meirionnydd. As a not-for-profit social enterprise company, we support and represent over 550 businesses and organisations throughout the region.

We have a track record in delivering the highly successful Mid Wales Tourism Conference. You can find out more about us on our trade website, www.mwtcymru.co.uk. MWT membership is not a pre-requisite for entry into these awards; we welcome all those who wish to participate.

The Mid Wales Tourism Awards has the full support and backing of VisitWales, the national tourism organisation funded by Welsh Government; and the Mid Wales Regional Tourism Forum, a public and private sector partnership of which MWT is an active member.

A dedicated Tourism Advisory Group of this Mid Wales Regional Tourism Forum has been established specifically to assist with the awards and includes representatives from VisitWales, Ceredigion County Council and others.

MWT Cymru is delighted to have been awarded an Awards Trust Mark by the Independent Awards Standards Council. This is an accreditation scheme that aims to raise standards across the business awards industry and demonstrates MWT Cymru's commitment to delivering an exceptional awards programme.
